Bay Area garage-rockers the Lies formed from the remnants of the Bonnot Gang, reuniting singer Dale Shaw, guitarist Sadie Shaw and drummer Sarah Reed with new bassist Casey Ward and drummer Tracy Sawyer, formerly one-half of the now-legendary Heavens to Betsy. The group's contribution to Kill Rock Stars' Mailorder Freak Singles Club shortly preceded the release of 1999's full-length debut Underdogs and Infidels.
