Early Years (2006–2008)
The band was founded by school friends guitarist Paul Travers and bassist Andrew McShane, they recruited vocalist Michael Rice and drummer David Beaton who introduced them to guitarist Lewis Millen.
Yashin quickly built up a large national following and released two EPs in 2008 Pay to Play and Miles Away But Getting Closer. Original vocalist Michael Rice announced his decision to leave the band in October 2008.
Enter Harry and Kevin (2009–2010)
After a brief audition process the band chose to replace Michael with not one but two vocalists. American born Harry Radford and Glaswegian Kevin Miles. The new line up embarked on a nine date UK tour in April 2009 supporting Madina Lake and The Audition, they continued to tour for most of the year in the UK and Europe before commencing recording their debut album Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them, with Romesh Dodangoda at Long Wave Studios in November 2009. The band played their biggest headline show to date by selling out The Garage in their hometown of Glasgow.
Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them (2010–present)
Yashin released their debut album, Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them on February 1, 2010, which included a cover of "Everytime" by Britney Spears. In March 2010, the band headed out on tour supporting Glamour of the Kill. The band undertook a twenty one date headline tour in September 2010. In December 2010 the band toured the UK supporting Emarosa, and on January 31, 2011, the band had the chance to open for A Day to Remember while playing the O2 Academy in Glasgow, as part of their European tour.
In March 2011, the band toured the UK in support of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
On July 16–17, 2011, the band is set to support Papa Roach on two intimate shows in London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and Sheffield's O2 Academy, the band's only two appearances in the UK for 2011.
The band is also set to support Korn in Glasgow's O2 Academy on the 9th of June 2011 and play the Download Festival on the 12th and Nova Rock Festival in Austria on the 13th of June.
