As Karen Pree, Pree recorded for various labels in the '70s. She had a minor hit "Make Love Last Forever" on Casablanca Records and released the self-titled Karen Pree on MCA Records in 1977. The multi-talented singer, songwriter, vocal arranger, and model grew up in Los Angeles, CA. Her Cherokee/Seminole Native American descent is mixed with African-American, German-Jew, and French. Pree's beautiful voice is always in demand as a background vocalist, and she's worked with Quincy Jones, Cornelius Grant, Bobby Taylor, and many others. She toured with Carolyn Crawford, backing Martha Reeves as the Vandellas for a year. She went on to live in Detroit, MI, since 1983, her hubby being producer/songwriter Clay McMurray, a Motown alumni who produced her A Matter of Fact album on My Town Records.
